Application Engineer - Vacuum systems

Responsible for the engineering, fabrication and performance of small and medium vacuum systems. This includes the accountability for the cost of fabrication, supervising the fabrication work, the performance output and the on-time delivery to the customer.

 

On systems sales support side, you are responsible to provide technical support to the customer. Engage customers to evaluate application possibilities, calculate and design vacuum systems and propose suitable technical solutions. This also includes selecting the suitable instruments and components to meet the customer’s requirement and specification.

 

Responsible for the coordination and performance of large systems where the system is built by other sister companies

 

Provide inside sales support on handling sales inquiries and generate proposals relating to the sale of vacuum pumps & systems.

 

Supervise and provide necessary guidance to system technician (direct report) to execute system assembly involving pipe fittings, valves, instruments, skid frames, control panel and up to testing and painting.

 

Be responsible for Final Acceptance testing (FAT) in system production facility and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) at customer site.

 

Engage the customers on a day-to-day basis to follow up on quotations and technical clarification.

 

Coordinate with factory, outsource vendors and sub-contractor and create G.A. Drawing, P&ID etc using Autocad or 3-D Solidworks.

  

Act as the single point of contact for technical clarifications for customers, contractors, resellers and agents.

 

Track and report quote activities; participate in Monthly Reporting process.

Execute contract review prior to order entry to ensure clean-order process —

 

Evaluate and interpret customers’ specification against our offer. Clarify with customer where necessary to resolve unclear requirements. Coordinate with Order Admin team on shipment update and information going back to the customer up to the point of delivery. 

  

Conduct product and application training.

 

The scope of territorial support includes Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

 

Requirements:

 

·         Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant Engineering discipline.

·         3 to 4 years of working experience in system design, application, sales support preferably from within the vacuum service industries but not mandatory.

·         Basic drafting or Autocad skills is a definite advantage.

·         An excellent aptitude towards mechanical equipment is needed for this role.

·         Dynamic, self-driven, motivated and most importantly, a hard working individual with an attitude to learn and advance.
